Search Party is returning to the small screen for its third season. But it’s not going to be in its original home network anymore. It’s heading to HBO Max.
Search Party is finally all set to drop its season 3. The American neo-noir black comedy television series last aired in 2017, which means it has been a long wait among fans who have been looking forward to its continuation.
But it’s here now in 2020, and it’s coming to a new home. Search Party will no longer be available to watch on TBS. Instead, it will be streaming on HBO Max.
When is season 3 premiering?
Search Party season 3 will be officially dropping on Thursday, June 25, on HBO Max. All 10 episodes will be available to stream on the platform on that day too.
Fans will also have nothing to worry about after they finish watching all episodes because they are going to get more. TV Line reported back in 2019 that the show has been renewed for season 4 already.
This means that whatever ending the satirical dark comedy will have in season 3, the story will live on to have more episodes.
“Search Party is alive and thriving!” executive producers Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers declared in a statement. “We are so thrilled to show the world what we’ve been working on the past two years and for new fans to find it on HBO Max.
What is the season 3 plot?
To give fans a sneak peek on what’s to come next week, the official trailer for the all-new third season has been released.
It turns out that the gang is going to be involved in a trial of the century. Dory (Alia Shawkat) and Drew (John Reynolds) are charged for the semi-accidental murder of private investigator Keith Powell (Ron Livingston).
But their arrest became viral that it was “the most fabulous public arrest ever.” The trailer also teased Dory’s friends Elliott (John Early) and Portia (Meredith Hagner) caught up in the trial.
As stated in the official description, they “grapple with whether or not to testify as witnesses, the friends are pitted against each other and thrust into the national spotlight, as Dory’s sanity begins to fracture.”
Appearing also in season 3 is Louis Anderson, who will portray the role of Bob, an “old school” lawyer from Chicago. Chelsea Peretti from Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also a guest star.
Seasons 1 and 2 of Search Party are available to binge-watch already on HBO Max while waiting for the third season. Stay tuned for more updates.
