Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift first met more than a decade ago.
Selena Gomez has revealed several surprises these past few weeks amid the pandemic crisis. After dropping her cooking show on HBO Max a few days ago, she released the teaser for her upcoming collaboration with BLACKPINK.
But, while the new music with the all-female K-pop group has caused excitement among fans, many have wondered whether she will, also, collaborate with Taylor Swift. After expressing her interest, Cheat Sheet reported that the “Hands To Myself” singer seemingly hinted and “teased” that this might happen soon.
Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift both wanted to collaborate musically
In an interview with Gary Whitta for Animal Talking, Selena Gomez revealed that she has always “dreamed” of collaborating with Taylor Swift. She added that they both wanted to do it and have talked about it.
Her statements have, reportedly, stirred many fans to conclude that they might be doing new music these days. As pointed out, the Wolves singer has seemingly centered her quarantine period into making music and other projects.
Although there is no assurance that one of her upcoming tracks will feature the Cardigan singer, the same publication is certain that there will be one soon.
Selena and Taylor “go back”
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez’s friendship started when they were dating two of the Jonas Brothers, according to Elle. Swift was with Joe Jonas, while Gomez was dating Nick Jonas.
After their first meeting 12 to 13 years ago, the Lose You To Love Me singer said that they just “clicked.” She, later on, described it as “hysterical.”
Since then, even after their respective breakups from Joe and Nick, Taylor and Selena have maintained their friendship. Reports also added that they have repeatedly supported each other, privately and publicly.
Their recent collaborations
Taylor Swift surprised the Swifties when she dropped her latest album, Folklore. It has a total of 16 tracks, with one bonus feature. In it, she collaborated with Bon Iver for the track titled Exile.
As for Selena, she recently released a teaser poster on Instagram. The poster reveals that she worked with BLACKPINK, who also posted the same teaser material. The track will arrive on August 28.
Despite the rumors and speculations earlier that the K-pop group will collaborate with Selena Gomez, the news still became a huge shock among fans and supporters of both parties.
