‘Serious Sam 4’ system requirements are out now

Serious Sam 4 now has clear system requirements for players who want to join the fun. Players would need quite a hefty rig to play a superbly excessive shooter.

Dev Studio Croteam has beefy system requirements for Serious Sam 4. The minimum system requirements are asking for a 4-core CPU and at least a GeForce 780. The recommended system requirements want, at least, an 8-core CPU.

Serious Sam needs a beefy rig to run 720p

Serious Sam always needed a ton of processing power and memory. The number of enemies and explosions on player screens at a time is ludicrous. Croteam expects the new iteration to demand more.

While Serious Sam is not something players expect to be gorgeous, this new version will be. The game is also going to try and spawn hundreds of thousands of enemies at a time. Such a feature means players need a powerful rig to generate everything.

The Legion system will only add more to the immersion of the game. The minimum system requirements for SS4 are as follows:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: 4-core CPU @ 2.5 GHz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: nVidia GeForce 780/970/1050 or AMD Radeon 7950/280/470 (3 GB VRAM)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 40 GB available space

The recommended system requirements for the game are as follows:

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit (1909)
  • Processor: 8-core CPU @ 3.3 GHz
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: nVidia GeForce 1080/2060 or AMD Radeon Vega64/5700 (8 GB VRAM)
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 40 GB available space

The minimum system requirements are for a 720p 30 fps session. The players need better specs if they plan on at least a 1080p 60 fps game. The devs also recommend having DX12 or Vulkan API.

New Serious Sam won’t melt any rigs

So far, the system requirements of Serious Sam 4 are hefty. The experience, however, should be next-gen, which means solid gameplay all-throughout.

To put it into perspective, the new Crysis Remastered has lower system requirements than SS4. Microsoft Flight Simulator’s recommended specs are also lower when compared to Serious Sam. Even then, MS Flight Sim will still need better system requirements to run properly.

While we expect that the game won’t be melting rigs, those interested would want at least a 2000 series graphics card. With the RTX 3000 series coming out soon, this should be much easier for many gamers.

Serious Sam 4 will come out on September 24. The game will be available for PC and all consoles, including cloud streaming apps. It will also have a potential next-gen upgrade next year.
