AnimeTV drops the official trailer for Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light. The movie is about to pick up where the anime series will end as it now nears its conclusion.
Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 is now on its last few episodes in Japan. When this ends, its story will continue in Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light that will drop this summer.
The anime’s continuation
The trailer introduces the protagonist’s new villains, the second Fairy King Dahlia and the Giant craftsman Dabuzu.
It also let fans hear its new song, “Sono Hikari E,” or “Toward that Light” in English by Akihito Okano.
According to Comicbook, the anime series’ fifth season is now on its way to end in Japan, but it has yet to be out in North America.
The international fans have no way to watch the series but on Netflix, and they are now eager to see the series finale.
The fifth season will officially end Meliodas, Princess Elizabeth, and the gang’s story as a whole.
There will be no sixth season coming, and its tale will continue in Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light.
Anyhow, though this movie seems to be the last installment for the franchise, a direct manga sequel is continuing its story.
There are no words yet if the Meliodas will return to the small screen, though, in any way after the movie’s release.
AniTrendz noted before the upcoming film, the manga already had a movie adaptation, called Prisoners of the Sky. The film was out in 2018.
Of course, there is the anime series that is currently airing today. Though it is yet to come on Netflix, it describes the series as:
“When a kingdom is taken over by tyrants, the deposed princess begins a quest to find a disbanded group of evil knights to help take back her realm.”

The franchise’s official plotline
Seven Deadly Sins features the story of the Seven Deadly Sins or the feared warriors. It all started when they were “accused of trying to overthrow the monarchy.”
The warriors were then sent into exile, but Princess Elizabeth learned the truth. She discovered the Sins were only framed up by the king’s guard, the Holy Knights.
However, it was already too late for her to stop them from assassinating her father and seizing the throne.
Now, Princess Elizabeth ends up on the run. She is looking for the Sins to help her reclaim the throne and the kingdom.
She first meets Meliodas, a little innkeeper who owns a talking pig. As this Sin doesn’t even have his own sword, their incredible journey starts in Seven Deadly Sins.
Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light is set to be out on July 2.
