The Seven Deadly Sins is based on a Japanese manga written by Nakaba Suzuki. In November 2015, Netflix obtained the legal rights for the series’ English release. All 24 episodes were released exclusively in the subtitled format along with an English dub feature.
Consequently, the Signs of Holy War (season 2) arc of the series premiered on the streaming platform two years after. The Revival of the Commandments (season 3) then followed in October 2018.
After almost three years of waiting, fans can finally stream the newest season of Seven Deadly Sins on Netflix. The network announced that the show will drop on the platform in July 2020.
Netflix said in the tweet,
“Meliodas and crew face their greatest challenge yet when hit fantasy anime The Seven Deadly Sins returns! The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods arrives this July.”
Since there is a lot of stories to cover, a fourth season was guaranteed even before Netflix made the announcement. Nevertheless, it is still uncertain whether the upcoming season will be the last for the series.
Considering that there are just over 110 chapters on the manga to cover, there’s a possibility that it can be condensed into one season. However, all of the fighting scenes compacted into those chapters will make it hard to attain.
In the upcoming season, many secrets and revelations will be revealed as Meliodas’ relationship with Elizabeth takes an unexpected turn. The connection between the characters is a very mysterious one, and it will likely become a major part of the plot.
Fans will also witness the kingdom of Camelot falling to Zeldris and the other commandments. With King Arthur hiding, viewers will find out whether it will be the end for Camelot or not.
Furthermore, with the Seven Deadly Sins separated across the kingdom, they will probably unite once again in season 4 to take on the lingering threat of the demon clan.
All the previous cast members will return in season four. Devotees will witness once again Meliodas, Elizabeth, Hawk, Diane, Ban, King, Gowther, Merlin, as well as Escanor. Apart from these, many fresh faces will also appear in the forthcoming installment.
The trailer for Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods is now available for stream online.
