The highly anticipated Shin Megami Tensei V was again seen last month during a Nintendo Direct Mini. Now, fans want to see more about the game, but what they really want to know is the game’s release date.
It was revealed during the Nintendo Direct Mini that the anticipated Shin Megami Tensei V was officially going to launch in 2021. No specific release date was given yet. However, new claims suggest that fans don’t have to wait too long before they get their hands on the game.
Will it be released in the first quarter?
According to recent claims, it’s believed that the next game in the acclaimed JRPG series is going to launch during the first quarter of 2021. The new rumors are as such because of the new release schedule that was outlined by Sega recently. While the exact release date is still yet to be revealed, we can at least narrow it down now.
The fiscal year begins in March and ends in April. Since Sega’s new release schedule dates the upcoming game for a release during the 2020 fiscal year, the longest fans have to wait for the game is during the last day of April 2021.
Of course, one thing that fans should consider first is that the game could be delayed. A lot of developers are delaying their titles because of development restrictions brought about by the pandemic.
What is the game about?
Shin Megami Tensei V is the latest entry in the long-running JRPG franchise. For those unfamiliar, the game has spawned various spin-offs, including the insanely popular Persona series.
Like the previous entries in the series, the new game will bring back demon collecting and negotiating. As per previous games, players will be able to use hundreds of various demons to fight alongside them in battle.
The games are also generally known to have an engaging story that usually centers around the end of the world. We’ve yet to know more about the new game, but from the recent trailer, it seems like the game takes place in the modern era.
Fans have long requested Shin Megami Tensei V. Its absence for several years led many to believe that it has been officially canceled. Now that we know that it is coming, all the fans have to do is wait and see when this game will arrive for the Nintendo Switch.
