Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, reportedly, blame the media for the failure of her father, Thomas Markle, to attend their 2018 royal wedding.
Some Quora users also claimed Meghan Markle held the press responsible for the fallout of her relationship with her dad.
Before the royal wedding, the senior Markle worked with the media to stage a photoshoot to clear his image. However, things didn’t go out as planned.
The plan was exposed, and it caused a huge embarrassment to the Royal Family, Town and Country reported. Thomas even claimed the scandal caused him too much stress that resulted in a heart attack, which made him missed her daughter’s wedding.
Now, in the Sussexes’ biography, Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed the couple blamed the media for it. Allegedly, they said it was the reason behind Thomas’ behavior and absence from their marriage.
Netizens weigh in on Meghan Markle blaming the media
In a discussion on Quora, Michael J Sampson said blaming the media is the most “ridiculous” thing to come out of the Duchess of Sussex’s mouth.
“This claim proves that Megs is incapable of thinking or acting rationally,” he said. “It also proves that Megs is incapable, unwilling, and unable to accept responsibility or the consequences, for ANY of her actions.”
For Meghan, Michael insisted it’s always “someone else’s fault.”
Terri Locke added that Thomas already apologized for his staged photos.
“I cannot help but believe that if Meghan had taken Harry to meet Thomas prior to her engagement, Thomas may not have done the photos,” Locke explained. “Meghan could have made it work if she really wanted to.”
Also, Niniane Bee suggested Meghan and Thomas might have a “poor relationship.”
“A strong, warm, loving connection would not be threatened by media coverage,” the netizen claimed. “All you’ve got to do is pick up the phone and talk. Why can’t they do that?”
Bee added they might not have a strong relationship to begin with. But even if it is the case, she insisted media is not to blame.

Thomas’ absence from the royal wedding
In the excerpt from Finding Freedom, it gave a glimpse to Meghan’s relationship with her father.
“He’s vulnerable,” the former actress, reportedly, told a friend about the staged photos. “He’s been baited. A lot of the tabloid journalists have been coaxing him and paying him.”
Prince Harry also, allegedly, blamed the media for what happened to his father-in-law. He was angry about the “pressure” Thomas experienced for about six months before he finally participated with them.
“He would have been at the wedding if the media had left him alone as they were asked to,” a source close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said.
