Silent Hill fans are working themselves into a shoot as they believe that a new game in the series will be announced, pointing out to Blue Box Studio’s Abandoned.
The Silent Hill community, thirsty for a new release, is looking everywhere for clues. Many now believe the next title is coming soon and will even come in the form of Abandoned. It doesn’t help that a weird hype happened that fed into the delusion.
Blue Box Games Studio set wrong hype
In April, a rookie indie dev based on the Netherlands named Blue Box Studios released a trailer. In it, they showed a sparse showing of a potential game titled Abandoned, originally coming for the PS5. The game is also now coming to PC.
Much of the trailer is almost a slideshow of creepy snowy woods and some ruins. While it is glorious, it tells nothing of the potential game, other than a likely creepier Resident Evil Village. There’s also some ranting and a sign for “god’s town.”
Everything went south once the company started tweeting. In their tweets, they almost said the most taboo hype move in the horror community. The deleted tweet says how “Abandoned = (First letter S, Last letter L). Reveal closing in..”
Silent Hill is franchise’s dead end for now
Many Silent Hill fans are reacting to this hype with weird gusto. It doesn’t help that rumors are saying Hideo Kojima is affiliated with Blue Box Studios and helping in Abandoned’s development. This led to chaos down the line.
We wanted to set things straight. We have no relations with Konami. Silent Hill is owned by Konami. We do not have any relations with Hideo Kojima. It was never our intention to tease the name as Silent Hill. We sincerely apologize for this.

So far, fans of the horror legend are starting to convince themselves that Abandoned is “Silent Hills”. The game, which is a Konami IP, is impossible to come under development. Considering the big hype, Konami can never follow through with such a big title.
Silent Hills supposedly had industry legends at the helm, with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro collaborating. The game even had PT or the Playable Teaser out, which gave fans an IP that will never be.
It also doesn’t help that Kojima likes to use weird fake names when announcing a new project.
Before the reveal for Metal Gear Solid V, the announcement was coming from Moby Dick Studios. The studio also had Joakim Mogren, with the first name an anagram of Kojima. Even now, Blue Box is trying to clear the air with a new tweet.
“We wanted to set things straight,” says the tweet. “We have no relations with Konami. Silent Hill is owned by Konami. We do not have any relations with Hideo Kojima. It was never our intention to tease the name as Silent Hill. We sincerely apologize for this.”
Silent Hill is likely not coming soon, and that’s sad news for everyone. Konami is sitting on a dormant treasure that, somehow, they’re unwilling to explore.
