Simon Cowell recently got into an accident while riding his electric bike.
Following the incident, Simon Cowell broke his back in three places that required him to undergo surgery. According to reports, the mogul was just 1 cm away from being paralyzed.

While speaking with National Enquirer, longevity expert Dr. Gabe Mirkin said that these types of surgeries typically have a high failure rate. As such, the injury may cripple Cowell’s mobility and movements.
“It will take time to see how successful it was. He will need a supervised exercise program for life. Without rehab, Simon will lose muscle strength in his damaged back and be likely to fall. He needs it to combat muscle loss and recover lost mobility,” Mirkin said.
Dr. Jonathan Lewin, the director of the Orthopedic Spine Doctors at the Center for Musculoskeletal Disorders, also weighed in on Cowell’s accident and surgery.
“He may be left with what’s known as a failed back syndrome, which is chronic back pain that remains even after successful surgery,” he said.
However, it is important to note that both doctors weren’t involved in Cowell’s surgery and treatment plan.
Cowell’s former girlfriend, Terri Seymour recently claimed that Cowell is in agony following the accident.
“He’s on his iPad, working. He actually just took a few steps,” Seymour said.
And a source said that the America’s Got Talent judge is still fortunate because his electric bike didn’t fall on him. And he’s luckier that his spinal cord is fine.
Simon Cowell already on the mend
Other doctors also shared their thoughts on Cowell’s accident. While speaking with Closer UK, celebrity surgeon Dr. Lucy Glancey said that back injuries are fatal.
“There’s no doubt Simon would’ve been traumatized by his accident. The fact that he sorted out his health and lost weight before this will have saved him months off his recovery and reduced the risk of complications, too. Being fit is great, as strong muscles are beneficial in providing support around the spine, enabling the vertebrae to mend,” she said.
Rumors debunked
Globe also claimed that Cowell’s surgery is more severe than what he’s letting on. A source claimed that his family worries that he might have to give up his entire career because of the accident.
However, Gossip Cop said that this isn’t the case. Simon Cowell is already on the mend. Even though he’s not on America’s Got Talent, he wouldn’t have to give up his entire career because of the accident.
