Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu says that his character can beat down the Hulk, Black Widow, and Iron Man in a fight inside the boxing ring!
According to Comicbook, Simu Liu had an interaction with Toronto Life. In that, he said Shang-Chi would come out victorious if thrown in a fight with Black Widow, the Hulk, and Iron Man.
“I win! Shang-Chi,” he told Toronto Life.
“I could debate this as a fan for hours, but now that I’ve got some skin in the game, I have to think I could take any of these guys on. Shang-Chi can throw a punch. As for his other skills and powers, you’ll have to wait and see.”
Shang-Chi movie early details
The MCU title did suffer a long pause due to the COVID-19 lockdown last year. But its team managed to resume production and finished the shooting before 2020’s end. Interestingly, it will now be released before Eternals, which will arrive in November.
“Every time we do a movie, we hope it’s going to succeed so that we can make another movie. That’s always the idea,” Kevin Feige said last year about Shang-Chi.
The Phase four-installment will be the first movie to star an Asian actor in a leading role. Black Panther and Captain Marvel were the first films to feature Black and female superheroes in titles roles. And they were both hugely successful as well at the box-office.
Now the expectations will be high from Simu Liu as he makes his Marvel debut with his solo movie. Destin Daniel Cretton directs the film. It also stars Awkwafina, Benedict Wong, and Fala Chen, among others.
MCU is expanding with future projects
There are too many Marvel titles ready to come out now. And fans will have to try to keep a check on the increasing count. Why? Because the universe is expanding faster now, especially after Disney acquired Fox’s characters. While the X-Men, Deadpool, and Fantastic Four are still away from their debut in the MCU, the rest of the line-up already looks massive!
Phase four has also begun with the WandaVision TV series’ premiere on Disney Plus last Friday. Falcon and the Winter, Ms. Marvel, Loki, Moon Knight, Secret Invasion, She-Hulk, Ironheart, and Armor Wars are some of the franchise’s upcoming shows. Apart from them, Phase five is also filled with Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, Blade, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Coming back to Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, it’s scheduled to arrive in theaters on July ninth.
