Another anime on the waiting list is SK8 the Infinity Season 2. Its first season recently came to a close, making fans wonder if it will have the chance to continue.
It’s safe to say that the first season performed remarkably well, receiving more than eight stars in every episode on IMDb. However, is this enough to put SK8 the Infinity Season 2 in production?
The first season surrounded by problems
The anime series’ first season is developed by the famed series director Hiroko Utsumi. Sure, he’s known as one of the best series directors in the industry.
But according to The Cinemaholic, he rarely returns to work on a single show with multiples seasons.
The only chance that there will be SK8 the Infinity Season 2 is if another studio will bravely continue it.
Aside from that, the first season was surrounded by a lot of issues when it’s still in the works at Studio Bones.
The company hired a small group of people to work on the project, doing several duties at once. Later, the studio realized it couldn’t meet the deadline it set.
It then did a desperate move, asking for help from their subsidiaries in panic. Sadly, this seemed to be a common thing in the industry today, rarely giving original series a chance to continue for another season.
So, it remains to be seen if Reki Kyan’s adventure will have the possibility to continue.

The first season’s success and possible second season plotline
It couldn’t be denied that the first season was a success, featuring different storylines at once. There’s violence, fun, chilling adventures, and more, taking fans on a roller coaster ride.
However, if there’s one thing that made fans loved it the most, it’s Reki and Langa’s love story.
The two perfectly balanced each other. Reki’s compassion and diligence were a perfect fit for Langa’s clumsy and stubborn attitude, per OtakuKart News.
The series had perfectly made Reki a lovable character. He broke all barriers and became as good as his opponent, Adam, if not even outmatched him.
As the first season ended with Langa’s victory, would their story continue in SK8 the Infinity Season 2?
If it happens to do so, there’re theories Reki and the rest of the group may go to Tokyo to compete against other skaters.
Koyomi may stand on her own two again, practicing really hard to redeem herself. Kiriko may also be seen here and continue her investigation.
Elsewhere, there may be more special snowboarding episodes involving Langa. Hopefully, fans may see this happening on the small screen in SK8 the Infinity Season 2.
