The new update on Skyrim has been a particular mishap for all modders.
Skyrim’s new update 7.0 is more troublesome for modders because of bugs it crashes on old save files, making any existing mods on users’ computers useless. Bethesda needs to release a new patch to fix the issue, but it is unclear when they will.
Skyrim modding community has been in high-pitch about this update since its announcement and with good reason, too, because it could destroy the game, the game that entertains many people for hours at a time and has made Skyrim one of the most popular games in history.
Sadly the game has many problems. Many of them are caused by bugs or cause performance issues, so Bethesda will try to fix them in the next patch.
What is the new update all about?
What is more distressing for some is that the new update means that anyone who had mods on their computer before patch 6.0 will lose all of them. Because of these bugs, they won’t work anymore.
So basically, Bethesda has taken away hours of modding development time from their community members, and it looks like there is no way out until they release a new patch to fix this problem for good, but there is no information when this could be possible.
It is hard to believe that Bethesda would release a patch that would cause crashes when it is released to fix bugs in mods, so maybe they would have to release two patches, one for bugs in mods and the other for crashes.
The problems are numerous. Mods have been mentioning one bug or another through Twitter and Reddit this summer, which caused no progress in fixing the problem. Fans are asking for a new patch with fixes for all these issues, but nothing has come yet.
What are some issues that modders are facing?
There are also complaints about an update that many users are wondering if this is what will be the reason they have to re-install Skyrim or just postpone their plans because of it. One of the users who had mods on his Skyrim was waiting for a new patch for this issue, and he has been telling about it since he installed the new update, with no progress from Bethesda.
It looks like most of the modders are putting the most effort into their projects, and they don’t have any spare time to fix this problem because of what they are working on. The mods that were already created before this update work as intended without any problems, it’s only those who have not finished their projects yet will suffer from them.
That means all those hours spent making mods, wasted because of this update.
This is a difficult time for many people in the community, and it’s not a good sign at all.
Hopefully, Bethesda will release a patch to fix lots of bugs and give the community the fun they enjoy. But for now, it looks like fans will have to wait.
