Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a limited weekly podcast. It will feature the history and development of the two Last of Us games.
Beginning this week, a limited weekly podcast will be released for The Last of Us Part Two. The podcast will have eight episodes. It will dig deep into the game’s development and behind the scene stories.
New podcast
Every episode will be released each week. It will discuss topics with respect to the game’s release. The developers ensured that the podcast will not contain any spoilers about the highly awaited game.
The podcast was revealed last month to add to the hype of their massive gaming community. The first episode was already released last June 9, 2020. The first podcast’s guests are no other than the sequel’s directors, Neil Druckmann and Anthony Newman.
Host and guests
The entire season will be hosted by renowned comedian, Christian Spicer. The comedian gained popularity for his stand-up act in “We’re All Going to Die.”
He will be hosting various guests in the coming weekly episodes including an interview with Ashley Johnson, who plays the role of Ellie in the sequel. She even posted a tweet about her experience in the podcast and described it as a “beautiful conversation”.

Other confirmed guests on the podcast are Troy Baker who plays Joel, Jeffrey Pierce who plays Tommy and Gustavo Santaolalla, the game’s musical composer. In one of the podcasts, they will also feature the developers and staff who have been working with The Last of Us series since the beginning.

In a trailer for the podcast, Troy Baker reveals that the first Last of Us game is Joel’s story while the second will focus on the story of Ellie. In the trailer, the energy of Spicer is extremely obvious as he introduces the podcast via the PlayStation Blog.
New podcast episodes will be released every Tuesday starting June 9 and will continue for eight more weeks. The podcast can be heard on Spotify and iTunes. The developers are also planning to release the podcast on other platforms in the coming weeks.

The first few episodes will focus more on the first game so fans can avoid any spoilers for The Last of Us Part Two. However, beginning on June 19, the podcast will dig deeper and deeper into the sequel.
The podcast is expected to discuss The Last of Us Part Two’s gameplay, storyline, and development.
