All are excited about the imminent release of Sony’s next-generation console. However, there might be limits on the PlayStation 5 pre-order.
As previously noted by Micky News, Sony is looking to limit the number of consoles on its initial holiday release based on a few reports. However, the PlayStation 5 pre-order is also going to be limited.
Sony has hyped the gaming community with the promising specs of the upcoming PS5. Epic Games added fuel to the blazing hype, by teasing what its Unreal Engine 5 can do PS5 and Xbox Series X games.
One can only assume the number of people who have already added Sony’s next-gen console to their respective wishlists. Unfortunately, a multiple number of pre-orders by one person might not be possible based on recent reports.
Source code reveals Sony’s plan to limit PlayStation 5 pre-order
Per GameRant, “a possible error message in the source” in Sony’s pre-order site shows that pre-orders are limited to one per customer.
The news is reportedly originating from a ResetEra user “Expy” who somehow fondled with the PlayStation Direct Shop which updates the references to the console’s pre-order.
Expy found a certain error message in the site’s javascript, which says, “You can only purchase one version of the PS5™ Console: Disc or Digital. You have already added one PS5™ console to your cart.”
The media outlet further notes that this may wildly hint the opening of the PlayStation 5 pre-order window. But, as always, readers are advised to take rumors and speculations with a grain of salt.

Sony won’t surprise consumers on PS5 pre-order availability
Nonetheless, Sony has reportedly promised its awaiting consumers that they will announce the date of pre-order prior to the official window period.
Forbes noted an interview with Canadian journalist Geoff Keighly, wherein PlayStation global head of marketing Ed Lempel addressed a few rumors involving the PS5.

This is what he had to say about the PlayStation 5 pre-order:
“I think it’s safe to say: we will let you know when pre-order will happen. It’s not going to happen within minutes notice. We’re going to at some point let you know when you can pre-order a PlayStation 5, so please don’t feel like you have to run out and go line up anywhere.”
This is quite a relief to know as Sony might be in for a tidal-wave like of traffic on its server, once the pre-order window opens. Unfortunately, there’s still no word about this one-per-person limit for the pre-order process.
Although, it is quite understandable that Sony will take this route as it does intend to offer a limited number of consoles. There’s always the preventive measures of not letting people order as many as they can, only sell them for a more expensive price once stores go out of stock.
