Sony is hinting that Playstation exclusives will come to PC as the company is gaining a bigger market as a multi-platform publisher.
So far, Playstation exclusives coming to PC have been the success story that Sony wants. Their AAA titles like Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone already came into the platform. Uncharted 4 is also on its way, with Sony noting there’s likely more coming.
Sony “still early” in their planning for PC
In an interview on Sony’s official website, Hermen Hulst revealed that they are looking more into the PC market. The Head of Sony Studios note the potential for more games for PC gamers.

“We’re still early on in our planning for PC. And Horizon Zero Dawn has been very successful,” detailed Hermen in the Q&A. “I think it shows there’s an appetite from gamers outside the PlayStation ecosystem to experience the amazing portfolio of games that PlayStation fans have enjoyed for years.
“But I want to emphasize that PlayStation will remain the best place to play our PlayStation Studios titles at launch. But we do value PC gamers, and we’ll continue to look at the right times to launch each game. Bend Studio just released the PC version of Days Gone on May 18. So that’s about two years after the PS4 release.”
Sony wants Playstation to stay as first-priority for IP
Depending on what fans are looking at, they can interpret Hermen’s answer into a couple of things. For one, Hulst notes that they understand the value of the PC gaming market. Sony will still value their Playstation exclusives, with first-party titles coming to the console first.
Fans can also interpret that Sony will only add their titles on the PC once buzz on the console dies out. Some PC fans note this can mean PC can be an afterthought, but that’s speculatory at best.
Sony notes how much they’re looking at building their IPs and getting more from them. The Japanese company is likely still testing the waters with tried and tested IP from their side.
“That’s the goal — we want to reach new gamers who haven’t yet experienced the great stories, characters, and worlds that we’ve built,” further noted Hulst. “Releasing games on PC will not come ever at the expense of building an exciting lineup of great console games.”
Sony is trying to push the envelope with their growing PC market. Their renewed interest in putting titles on PC is refreshing. The company also renewed their investment in Playstation Now, which complements the record-numbers from the PS5 and Playstation exclusives.
