Sony ZVE10 is an E-mount camera suitable for video bloggers. ZV1 is equipped with an interchangeable lens camera. Sony announced the launch of ZVE10, an APSC camera with interchangeable lenses that are expected to meet the needs of video bloggers.
It has a lot of features that we like with prime lenses. ZV1 uses a larger sensor format, including shortcuts to focus and exposure settings, which video bloggers may need quick access to. For example, as a larger camera, the pocket-sized ZV1 lacks space for a headphone jack.
Longer battery life and larger sensors, with greater flexibility in depth of field. Thus, the price, including the 1650mm lens, is US$799, which is a good deal, slightly higher than the ZV1’s current starting price of US$749. Although ZVE10 solves many of our complaints about ZV1, the latter also has a feature that the new camera lacks: hardware image stabilization.
What’s special with the Sony ZVE10 camera?
ZV1 integrates a stabilization function in the lens, while ZVE10 only provides electronic stabilization. It also includes writing gyroscope sensor data in metadata, which can be used for post-processing stabilization. ZVE10 provides 24. On the other hand, it has a 2-megapixel sensor with native ISO 100-32000 and excellent subject and eye-tracking autofocus.

This feature is provided by both the ZV1 and Sony’s current interchangeable lens cameras. It also includes a Bokeh Switch ZV1 mode suitable for vloggers. It either provides an aperture to blur or focuses the background and a product display mode. This is to apply the most appropriate autofocus settings to display the products in the camera. There is a fully dynamic touch screen that we can easily control from the front of the lens.
The maximum resolution of video recording is 4K / 30p and shooting. However, it contains hybrid log gamma configuration files SLog2 and SLog3 for videographers who want to evaluate the material after recording. You can record slow-motion images at resolutions up to 1080/120p.
Price and attachments
The scope of delivery includes a 3.5 mm headphone and microphone socket and a directional microphone with three poles. Meanwhile, it is integrated into the included windshield. USB live streaming is compatible with Android 11 phones but not yet compatible with iOS. ZVE10 requires up to 80 minutes of video recording on a single charge, which is almost twice the duration of 45 minutes of ZV1.
Sony ZV1 will retail in August, priced at US$699 per box, and the 1650mm lens kit priced at US$799. You can record video in 4K/ 30P resolution and removed it from multiple 6K legs.
