Fans may be waiting for MCU’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, but there’s a new superheroine coming soon with Sony’s Silk TV series.
Famous Marvel scooper Charles Murphy just revealed that Spider-Man spin-off series Silk had found its showrunner.
Sony is moving ahead with its superhero universe, based on Peter Parker-related characters and villains.
‘Silk’ TV series early details
As per Charles Murphy’s report, Sony has hired Sang Kyu Kim as the showrunner and executive producer on the project. She’s known for her work on Jupiter’s Legacy, Altered Carbon, Designated Survivor, and The Walking Dead.
It looks like the company wants to create a vast, expanded universe of multiple Spider-Man characters in the future.
Looking at the ongoing preparations, it seems very clear as well.
Coming back to the live-action Silk series then it will follow the story of Cindy Moon. She will make her debut in the present world of many superhero-based shows and movies. Interestingly, her comic book debut isn’t very old as well. She first appeared just seven years ago, in 2014.
And it should come as no surprise that a radioactive spider also bit her.
When it comes to the availability of this live-action Silk series, it will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
According to the latest rumors, the makers are casting a Korean-American between 19 and 29.
Other leaks have reportedly revealed that Adeline Rudolph is the one who will portray the character of Cindy Moon. But again, there’s no further detail about it. So no confirmation is made yet.
An early description of the series tells that you will see the character fighting crimes and liking for the 80s and 90s pop culture.
More Marvel content coming soon
Meanwhile, the line-up of all Marvel-based shows and films is packed for the next few years. Be it the MCU or Sony, and there are a lot of projects to watch out for.
There’s Morbius, a Venom sequel, and Kraven The Hunter movie when it comes to Sony. The latter is yet to be announced.
Coming onto Marvel Studios’ titles then the slate is filled with multiple heavyweights.
Talking about the Silk TV series, again, then there’s no other information yet. The release date might be revealed, possibly in the next year.
