Friends star, Lisa Kudrow recently voiced out her frustration during her mother’s funeral. The actress revealed that people looked at her like she was a monster.
Back in February, Lisa Kudrow’s mother passed away. At the funeral, Lisa strongly insisted that hugging would not be allowed. It appears that the actress had difficulty in introducing social distancing at the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.
There were already recommendations from the World Health Organization to practice social distancing but the virus has not yet been declared as a pandemic. Apparently, social distancing was just a new concept, and people were not yet informed about the danger of the virus.
Lisa Kudrow admitted to no hugging policy
When Lisa and the rest of the family and friends were in the emergency room, she told the rabbi to impose no hugging. The actress said,
That was the hardest decision because we weren’t there yet and we had only just heard the words ‘social distancing’. I’m a freak and all I could think that whole day was there has to be coronavirus here.
However, not all people seemed to accept Lisa’s decision. She was aware that people looked at her like she was a monster. She added,
“Some people [understood] and most people were just looking at me like I was a monster when I’d take two steps back, put up my hands and say, ‘Hi, thanks for coming.’ That was hard.”
The actress also shared that she was thankful that her mother was given a proper burial. However, not everyone in the funeral practiced social distancing. Kudrow asserted that most of the people hugged.
She was worried that she might get someone sick. The actress also mentioned that she was not sure if she got infected with the virus.

Lisa Kudrow addresses criticisms on Friends‘ all-white cast
The Friends comedy series has been popular for 16 years even after it ended. Now, Lisa is addressing the issue of the series’ all-white cast. She defended that she did regret being part of the sitcom. However, if the series is made today, it would not have a more diverse race. She further voiced out that the show was already progressive at the time. She defended,
“There was a guy whose wife discovered she was gay and pregnant, and they raised the child together? We had surrogacy too. It was, at the time, progressive.”
