It looks like Spider-Man 3 will have a new take on Flash Thompson’s character because he won’t remain a Spidey fan after an identity reveal.
According to Comic Book Resource, Flash Thompson, who’s been an avid fan of Spider-Man so far, won’t see him as a hero anymore. Why? Because in 2019’s Far From Home, Mysterio revealed the true identity of the superhero. And Spider-Man 3 will probably show its impact on Thompson as well. Because now he knows that it was always Peter Parker, his classmate!
“Spider-Man 3” movie early details
Flash Thompson seems to be in Team Mysterio now! It’s confirmed, at least going by the latest Instagram story of him in the MCU franchise. The @spideyno1fan_ account, which acts as Flash’s in-world social media page, revealed this new information. Although it was indirect, fans didn’t take too long to understand what might happen in Spider-Man 3.
Since Sony owns the Spider-Man character, it keeps teasing unexpected things from the upcoming installment. And this Instagram page of Flash is a part of that only. In its recent story, Flash is calling the Spidey a Menace. It’s the same term used by J. Jonah Jameson at the end of Far From Home. Moreover, Flash also shows his newfound interest in Mysterio. And it also seems likely that in Spider-Man 3, he will be against Peter Parker, no matter what. Because now that he knows his true identity, he will not support him (the masked superhero) as he did in the past two movies.
Talking about the threequel, then all the essential details are still under wraps. However, it’s almost confirmed that the movie will include multiverse in a big way through various sources. Many old characters are returning as well, from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy! It will be interesting to see that happening in the movie itself.
Upcoming MCU entries in the future
Meanwhile, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has got a lot of upcoming surprises coming soon. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, it looks like the production will carry on forward. However, the growing number of cases will surely hamper the filming of multiple series and films. Speaking of the current phase then WandaVision has begun the streak of fresh MCU content. Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be the next installment, arriving in March. But after that, on the side of movies, things don’t look so good. Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals are delayed already due to Coronavirus.
Then there are some future titles, including Disney Plus shows like She-Hulk, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Loki, Secret Invasion, and a Wakanda series.
Coming back to Spider-Man 3, it’s currently slated to be released on December 17, 2021.
