Jamie Foxx joins Spider-Man 3
Jamie Foxx is also joining the third installment of Tom Holland’s superhero flick. He will be playing as Electro. The character was first introduced in Amazing Spider-Man 2 aka Max Dillion. Despite the lack of critical and commercial success, Kevin Feige reportedly loved Foxx’s portrayal, Screenrant reported.
The outlet also noted that his return could set-up some options for the whole movie altogether. Also, Feige can create MCU counterpart of X-Men characters who were underserved if he wants to.
Doctor Strange will fill in Iron Man’s place
Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man played a significant part in Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Stark served as Parker’s father figure. It was him who discovered Spider-Man and supported him. He even created a powerful suit for him.
But Iron Man died in Endgame when he sacrificed himself to save the world. His death left a huge void in Parker’s life. In the last Spider-Man movies, Parker was broken-hearted and was still grieving over Stark’s death.
“I just really miss him,” Parker said in one scene referring to Stark.
“Everywhere I go, I see his face. And the whole world is asking who’s gonna be the next Iron Man and I don’t know if that’s me Happy. I’m not Iron Man.”
Thus, the addition of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in Spider-Man 3 as the titular character’s mentor and father-figure could boost the latter’s morale.
