Sony’s The Future of Gaming conference had some big surprises for gamers, but perhaps no other game stole the show as much as Spider-Man Miles Morales. Since being revealed, fans can’t help but talk about this upcoming title for the PlayStation 5.
There’s a lot we don’t know about Spider-Man Miles Morales yet, but that isn’t stopping fans from being privy with Insomniac Games about their upcoming games. The developers aren’t going to leave fans hanging after such an interesting trailer, though. Just recently, they’ve revealed some interesting details about the game.
Plot details revealed
Creative director Brian Horton recently discussed some plot details about the upcoming game in a blog post. From the get-go, Horton says that the upcoming game will dive deep into Miles Morales’ discovery of the powers that set him apart from his mentor and idol, Peter Parker.
From the trailer, we can see him use some sort of electricity charges. It’s similar to what was highlighted in the massively popular Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in which Miles was the main character.

Horton then sets the tone for the upcoming title. According to the creative director, the game takes place a year after the events of the first game. It’s wintertime, and Miles now lives in Harlem, New York, which is currently covered in snow. His new home is at the heart of a battle between an energy corporation and a high-tech criminal army.
From what the developers tease, it seems like players will be able to explore Harlem in Spider-Man Miles Morales. Whether the game is open-world remains to be a question, and some fans are concerned.
Smaller than usual
Insomniac Games revealed that the game would not be as big as Spider-Man, but they instead likened it to the size of Uncharted The Lost Legacy, which is a standalone expansion for Uncharted 4.
That being said, fans are concerned that Insomniac Games might take a more linear approach when it comes to the game instead of the open-world. However, since this is Spider-Man we are talking about, likely, Insomniac Games will still feature an openly explorable area for players to web swing at.
Spider-Man Miles Morales will be the continuation of Insomniac Games’ masterpiece on the PS4. It’s the follow-up to what’s considered as one of the best superhero games ever, so there’s a lot of hype and expectations behind the game.
