Spider-Man: Miles Morales was one of Sony’s title highlights from the PlayStation 5 event last June.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales follows the footstep of its critically acclaimed predecessor, which paved its way back in 2018. Insomniac Games will still headline the development of this new installment to the game franchise.
The Spider-Man: Miles Morales release date is yet to be specified, but it is said to arrive in 2020—most likely along with the release of the PlayStation 5. However, there’s been chatter of it being bundled with a remastered PS5 version of the original Spider-Man title.
Will Spider-Man: Miles Morales come with a bundle upon release?
The said rumor came from Reddit, wherein one user took a snapshot of an excerpt from his Game Informer magazine, wherein it discussed the upcoming Marvel game.
The second paragraph read:
“Miles Morales isn’t a traditional sequel, since it comes bundled with a remastered version of Insomniac’s Spider-Man that takes full advantage of the PS5 hardware.”
This was in my gameinformer magazine…. correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t remember a Spider-Man remaster being announced…. from playstation
Indeed enough, there wasn’t any talk of a Spider-Man bundle nor was there official talks about the first Spider-Man game getting a PS5 remaster.
Unfortunately, this does not officially confirm anything for Insomniac Games’ highly anticipated title. Also, as of this writing, neither Sony nor its devs have yet to give comments about this.
How likely is it to get a Spider-Man remaster?
Screenrant discusses the likelihood of a PlayStation 5 remaster being a gaming reality. “it would make sense for Sony and Insomniac to have this up their sleeves,” per the media outlet.
Accordingly, the said game has been used by Sony when comparing the systems between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5. OF course, running the game on the PS5 engine showed a lot of potential for the game’s graphics.
Meanwhile, others speculate that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is likely to headline the PlayStation 5 release this Holiday season. Similar to that of Halo Infinite for the Xbox Series X. “It would be a system-seller, for sure,” per Digital Trends.
As mentioned before, the upcoming title will not be a DLC expansion to the original game. The storyline will be based a year after the events that transpired in the first game installment.
Having both of the games upon launch would definitely be worth the purchase, most especially when it is played chronologically—a continuous storyline.
Redditors on the said post have expressed their excitement on this possibility. However, without official confirmation, it all remains as a mere rumor, for now.
