Stephen Spielberg’s Jurassic World heads to Netflix in an animated series, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous. The new series will feature the adventures of six teenagers who are invited on a camping weekend at Jurassic Park.
Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is one of the anticipated series to arrive on the streaming platform. From the big screen, the series will arrive on the small screens this Sept. 18. Avid fans of the original Jurassic Park movie will experience a new world of dinosaurs and prehistoric vibes.
Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is not only for kids
Although the series may seem to attract kids viewers, this is not the case. Movie director Stephen Spielberg, in an interview with Netflix, declared that he does not want a “kiddy version.”
Besides, Spielberg would want to pursue something that is really “Jurassic Park” and everyone to feel like they are in the “Jurassic World.” Furthermore, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous will bring into the screen the first-ever animated series.

Showrunner Scott Kreamer shared what to expect from the series. He said:
“So the whole idea is: Let’s put kids in the center of the story. Let’s cut off adult help. Let’s make them have no one to count on but each other. And really, that’s just the entire impetus for this story, is let’s empower the kids and see what happens.”
Some teasers to know
While the movie centered on the journey of the adults, this time around the Camp Cretaceous series is focused on the adventures of the kids. The story will follow the events from the original movie. The challenge started when the dinosaurs escaped from their cages and, yes, the next thing shows the teen-campers in a state of horror who need to devise a plan to save themselves. What aggravated the situation is that they are cut off from the help of the adults.
