Star Wars fans are going to be disappointed.
Keira Knightley has recently revealed that she can’t remember what role she played on the iconic film Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.
Speaking to Comingsoon.net, the 35-year-old star revealed that she wasn’t asked much about the film and admitted that she was only twelve when she filmed it.
Keira Knightley’s role on “Star Wars”
It was not a big role for the British actress at that time.
Keira played Sabé, one of Queen Amidala’s (Natalie Portman) most important handmaidens who later becomes her decoy.
When the interviewer said, “Your character survived. Whereas Padmé did not.”
Keira asked, puzzled, “Wait a minute. Who did I play? Was I not Padmé?”
After the interviewer told her that she played Sabé and not Padmé, the “Love, Actually” actress confessed, “Do you know, I saw the film one. I think I was 12 when I did it, and it came out, and I saw it the year after. And I’ve never seen it again.”
She added, “So, I played Sabé, and she didn’t die? Okay!”
Keira later pointed out that she has a better excuse for not remembering the role on Star Ways, given the number of roles she played 21 years later.
Keira has played roles in Begin Again, Pirates of the Caribbean, Anna Karenina, The Duchess, and King Arthur.
When asked if she would play the role again for a new installment of Star Wars, Keira laughed and said, “Reprising the character I can’t even remember the name of? No, there hasn’t.”
In another interview in March, Keira Knightley also revealed that the headdress she used for the 1999 film was so massive, it gave her a headache.
“And I remember being in the background for such a long time that I’d actually fallen asleep,” the Pride & Prejudice star revealed.
She added,” I was just sitting in a chair, and I was in the background, but I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I really remember that. But apart from that, I don’t remember anything else about it.”
“The Mandalorian” season 2
