After God’s Menu, Stray Kids’ Back Door became their second video to surpass 200 million views on YouTube.
Stray Kids have become the most talked-about 4th generation K-pop group on the planet. They became famous as lads who produced noise music and exploited it as their USP (Unique Selling Proposition). The phrase noise music was formerly derided, but 4th generation K-pop groups have taken it over and made it one of the most popular genres in the industry.
Stray Kids’ repackaged album, IN Life, was released on September 14, 2020, and included the song Back Door as the title track. On August 26, over a year after its debut, Back Door became Stray Kids’ second video to reach the “200 million club” on YouTube.
God’s Menu, their first-ever song to surpass 200 million views on YouTube, proved to have unexpected impacts on regular listeners due to Felix’s verse. When fans hear 20-year-old Felix remark, “Hey, you want to come in?” in his incredibly deep voice in “Back Door,” it appears to have a similar impact.
What you need to know about ‘Back Door’
Stays and other K-Pop lovers will like the song Back Door, which serves as a celebration song. As they celebrate the success of God’s Menu, the Stray Kids invite viewers to attend their celebration. The music and lyrics are upbeat and celebratory, implying that the song is about a party where people dance to the beats.
The phrase Back Door also refers to the act of entering a restricted area, making the song exclusive to Stays because they are the only ones invited to the party. This did not deter casual listeners, as the song has since received a lot of attention.
The Kids have made a thunderous comeback with their latest single, NOEASY, proving that they are here to stay with their Stays. NOEASY is the number one album on the iTunes Worldwide Albums list as of August 26 and has remained there for the last three days since its release.
Thunderous’s title tune is also dominating the charts, now sitting in the Top 5 on iTunes’ Worldwide Songs chart.
It debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Worldwide Song rankings on August 23, breaking the record for concurrently charting in 52 countries, including the United States, Australia, and Singapore.
Stray Kids’ staggering feats
It also debuted at number 104 on Spotify’s Global Top 200 Chart, beating Stray Kids’ own record for the greatest debut single.
On its release, the new album NOEASY also topped both Hanteo’s Daily Album chart and Gaon’s Retail Album Daily chart. This standard album received 930,000 pre-orders before selling 355,946 copies in one day, according to the Hanteo Chart.
Because Seungmin wrote a message for fans, Stays celebrated surpassing 200 million views, and the hashtag Back Door 200M Authorized trended on Twitter. He included a wordplay from the song’s lyrics in the message, adding, “No unauthorized persons, this is the back entrance. You, on the other hand, are all approved personnel.”
Fans were overjoyed and began inviting additional fans using a phrase from the song, “Hey, you want to join in?”
