Fans of Harvest Moon can rejoice as Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is coming to PC. The title will come for the Switch and Steam on July 14.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is more famous as Harvest Moon: FOMT in the West. The original game was on the Gameboy Advance and had two versions. The first game that came out in 2003 was a remake of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature.
Publisher XSeed Games confirmed the announcement during the PC Gaming Show with a video trailer.
Friends of Mineral Town is the quintessential farming life sim
Friends of Mineral Town is the quintessential farming game. Even before, games like Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon was the life sim everyone played. There are even two versions of the game meant for boys and girls.
Harvest Moon: FOMT was the first and male version of the game. In this version, the character inherited a decrepit farm from an old foster grandfather. It was the player’s job to restore the farm to its old glory and integrate into the town.
Mineral Town had its fair share of townsfolk in the idyllic seaside municipality. The game also had a variety of bachelors and bachelorettes that the players can marry.
The female version, More Friends of Mineral Town, has more advanced features. The gameplay was almost similar, with mild improvements from the previous game. Even then, the gameplay for both is stunning. Critics and fans alike praise it for its gameplay and its cute art style.
Story of Seasons is looking to bring love and nostalgia back into franchise
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is looking to recreate this nostalgia. The game is now on 3D, which gives a vibrant, pastel color to the world. The player can choose four characters, with both of the original protagonists available.
The town still has its share of colorful individuals, all giving life to a happy, peaceful town. Story of Seasons promises a good time, with many crops and animals to take care.
The remake added more things to do, including more pets and animal types. It also kept a ton of the original activities like farming, mining, and fishing. For many players, this is a superb trip down memory lane.
The game looks like it will be friendly for new players, too, giving easy controls and a clean UI. The new features will make fans of Stardew Valley feel right at home. Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town will be available for PC on Steam and the Nintendo Switch. The PC launch will come on July 14.
