Joe Keery reportedly became a victim of a Twitter hack earlier this week. This might affect his appearance on Stranger Things season 4.
Joe Keery made headlines this week after his Twitter account allegedly got hacked. The hateful tweets reportedly alarmed Netflix, which could put his future on Stranger Things season 4 in danger.
The influx of tweets during the hack included racist and problematic messages. The posts attacked the show’s producers and his co-stars. Before the hack, Joe Keery rarely posted on the Twitter account.
Keery played popular high school kid Steve Harrington on the ‘80s-inspired series. Steve evolved into becoming a fan-favorite character on the science fiction drama.
Hey everyone, I was hacked as I’m sure everyone knows. What a bummer that someone would go to such great lengths to spread hate. I want to apologize for the horrible comments that were posted, it was deeply upsetting to me. Much love to you all in these crazy times.

Stranger Things season 4 out on Netflix in 2021
Meanwhile, Netflix will reportedly release Stranger Things season 4 in 2021. The sci-fi series generated a lot of buzz in February after a teaser revealed that Jim Hopper is alive.
There is still no confirmation as to when Netflix plans to drop the new season. Based on previous seasons, the producers will not hesitate to make fans wait for as long as 20 months.
Notably, season 4 started filming in February in Lithuania. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Netflix decided to shut down the production of the series for the meantime.
Producer and director Shawn Levy recently spoke out about Netflix’s decision to shut down filming. According to report, the streaming service wanted to practice “an abundance of caution” when it comes to their shows.
Netflix promotes Priah Ferguson to series regular
Despite the possible delay in the release of the new season, fans will be delighted by recent casting news. According to a report, Netflix promoted Priah Ferguson to series regular for the fourth season.
Ferguson plays Erica Sinclair, the younger sister of Lucas (played by Caleb McLaughlin). She first appeared in the show’s second season and earned fans because of her one-liners. She then became a recurring cast member in the third season.
Stranger Things ending soon?
Meanwhile, there are reports that Stranger Things season 4 could be the last season of the Netflix series. The news alarmed fans who are not ready to let go of the beloved series yet.
To be fair, the Duffer Brothers always said the show will end after the fourth or fifth season. If Stranger Things season 4 turns out to be the end, the creators can wash their hands of the outrage.
