Millie Bobby Brown and Eleven, her character on Stranger Things, aren’t going anywhere as a spinoff is reportedly in the works.
Netflix is apparently planning to do a solo series on Eleven, according to insider Daniel Richtman. An episode from Stranger Things season 2, titled The Lost Sister, previously served as the backdoor pilot.
Details to the planned spinoff, however, have not been fully revealed. According to reports, there’s still a chance that the project might not see the light of day.
However, the streaming platform is said to be keen on expanding the world of Stranger Things after the fourth season. Brown’s Eleven is on top consideration since she is the show’s biggest star.
Season 4 updates
The production of Stranger Things season 4 has re-started since October in Georgia and will move to New Mexico in December. The show actually kicked off work at the start of the year but has been set back by the pandemic, along with thousands of film productions around the world.
According to What’s on Netflix, the cast and crew finished filming two episodes before the COVID-19 lockdown. The creators of the series, however, considered the delays a blessing in disguise.
“It impacted very positively by allowing the Duffer brothers, for the first time ever, to write the entire season before we shoot it and to have time to rewrite in a way that they rarely had before so the quality of these screenplays are exceptional, maybe better than ever,” producer Shawn Levy said.
Stranger Things season 4 will likely have nine episodes, which will also include a backstory on Chief Hopper. There will be a new location in the upcoming season since the Bryers moved out of Hawkings. Leaked spoilers also revealed that the cast would return to Starcourt Mall, while there will be three new young faces joining the group.
The final season?
As the kids of Stranger Things are growing up and maturing, viewers have wondered if the show will finally end with the fourth season. Levy, however, hinted that this upcoming installment would not likely be the last of the series.
“We have a good sense of stuff that happens in season 4,” the producer said. “There’s very much the possibility of a season beyond that one, that’s currently undecided.”
From the very start, the Duffer Brothers had a plan to do five seasons of Stranger Things. However, their negotiations have yet to be settled with Netflix. Ross Duffer said that they are still figuring the show’s ultimate end.
