The Queen’s Gambit, Netflix’s breakout hit show, has defeated The Mandalorian in streaming. A new report just revealed the big news.
According to Gamesradar, Nielsen’s latest report just unveiled a new king in terms of streaming viewership. And the figures for October’s first week are showing The Queen’s Gambit as the most-streamed series. It beats The Mandalorian, a very highly acclaimed and popular Disney Plus Star Wars series.
In simple words, The Queen’s Gambit has claimed the top spot among other most-viewed shows on streaming platforms. The result released belongs to Nielsen’s current rankings.
“The Mandalorian” and “The Queen’s Gambit” showdown
The Star Wars show stars Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, aka the deadly bounty hunter, and Baby Yoda/Grogu. And the Netflix limited series stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Beth Harmon, an aspiring Chess player.
While both of them are well-received in audience reactions, The Queen’s Gambit is currently becoming a phenomenon. It has broken various records since it first arrived in October. A few days ago, it made history when it became number one in more than 60 countries!
The Mandalorian is not far behind, as its second season is driving the fans crazy over the internet. Each new episode creates a new topic of discussion and theories on social media. And most importantly, the current season really revealed several unknown aspects and characters. This year, the viewers got to know the actual name of Baby Yoda, which is Grogu.
And last week’s chapter introduced a live-action iteration of the Ahsoka Tano. Revelations like these have blown away the minds of curious Star Wars lovers.
Upcoming, anticipated TV shows in 2021
No matter what happens, it seems likely that the streaming wars will continue even in the coming year. And looking at the competition as of now, more shows will try to dominate each other in 2021.
Talking about more, there are, in fact, a lot of them, arriving in a few months from now. And the most awaited titles will be from Disney Plus because it’s home to all the MCU stuff!
Die-hard fans of the Marvel universe are impatiently waiting for phase four to begin as soon as possible. And TV shows like WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier will act as starters in that direction.
Then there are other exciting projects like Ms. Marvel, Nick Fury series, Moon Knight, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, and Loki. They all will either arrive in 2021 or start shooting in 12 months. But before Disney Plus gets loaded with unimaginable MCU content, The Mandalorian will keep the viewers entertained for sure. And in that process, it may snatch the top spot, again, from The Queen’s Gambit.
