June is a big month for players of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the roster is expected to expand with a brand new DLC. However, we’re at the halfway point of the month, and we’ve still yet to see the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC.
What we do know for now is that the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC will be a character from Nintendo’s ARMs. There are many possible candidates in the game, so it’s tough to pick one that’s fitting for the Super Smash roster. There are a few standouts that fans have in mind, however.
Spring Man/Springtron
Spring Man is the poster boy for ARMs, and he’s somewhat like the main protagonist of the game. Having him added to the Super Smash roster is very likely considering his mark on ARMs. What’s even better is that Springtron can be used as an alternate costume for him.
However, many fans believe that he won’t be the DLC character considering that he’s already a spirit in the game. Still, some amiibo leaks suggest otherwise.
Byte and Barq
Byte and Barq are two unique characters in ARMs as they are two units in the game. Super Smash fans believe that the police inspired Byte and Barq will make up for a unique character in the fighting game as well. However, there are some concerns regarding their addition as a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC.
The current BLM protests in the US have put the police under scrutiny. Companies like Lego have even decided to drop their police-related products. While it may seem trivial for some players, Nintendo might be worried about the possible backlash for adding a police-inspired character in the game.
Helix
Helix is one of the fan favorites in ARMs, and he’s a unique character as well. The green and flexible character is capable of extended his body to surprising lengths, which allows him to reach foes from a distance. He can also rise upwards to avoid getting hit.
Helix’s abilities make him a perfect character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It will be exciting to see how his abilities translate into the game.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC. Since this will launch this month, many are hoping that a Nintendo Direct will take place soon as well. For now, all fans can do is wait.
