Since being revealed last year, Blizzard has been very quiet about Overwatch 2. However, fans are getting to know the game more through surveys and other media made by Blizzard themselves.
Just recently, Blizzard apparently sent out a survey to some Overwatch players. The survey had questions regarding the possible features in Overwatch 2. If the results are well, we could very well be seeing these features in the upcoming sequel expected to launch next year.
Battle pass?
According to a recent survey sent out by Blizzard, there’s a good chance that the next game will introduce a battle pass to the game. This feature has been popularized by battle royales like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and more. Basically, it’s a rewards system that gives players access to new cosmetics as they go through a tiered system.
Battle passes are often paid for. If this is a case, then it’s more likely that Blizzard will make the game free. This is going to be a great plan for Blizzard. Not only can they greatly increase their player base, but they’ll also have a more sustainable means of generating profit.
The addition of battle passes means that the game will also be getting seasons soon. Hopefully, there are themed seasons for the game as well.
Legendary skin recolor
According to the survey, Blizzard could also give players the ability to recolor their legendary skins in Overwatch 2. We’ve yet to know exactly how this will work in the game. However, it’s likely that players will be able to choose from templates to change the colors of their skins.
This will help players distinguish their favorite heroes, among others. This feature comes as a surprise to players as no one really asked for it. However, it’s good that Blizzard is considering the feature too. It will add more variety to the skins in the game.
It’s worth noting that since this is just a survey from Blizzard, it’s not guaranteed that the features will make it to the game eventually. However, what we can say is that the developers are going to consider these features for the game.
There’s no release date for Overwatch 2 yet. However, rumors strongly suggest that the game will launch at Blizzcon in February. Fans are hoping that the rumors are true. If the survey means anything, it’s that there will be more features for players to access in the game.
