Following their controversial TV appearance for TIME 100 Most Influential People, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced a wave of criticism calling them a politically woke couple.
It came after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex urged Americans to make a change by participating in the upcoming US national election.
The 36-year-old prince then encouraged the public to “reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity.”

Royal experts and one of their vocal critics, Piers Morgan, slammed the former royals by pointing out that the two deserved to be stripped of their royal titles.
Earlier this year, the most sought after couple announced that they would be stepping down as senior members of the Firm, to carve a new progressive role outside the monarchy.
With this, they will no longer formally represent the royal family and are barred from using their HRH titles.
However, they still managed to retain their private patronages and associations, as well as their title for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Baron and Baroness of Kilkeel.
Sussexes Loyalist Defends Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Now, fans shut down claims that the former “Suits” actress and her husband should give up their royal titles.
In Channel 5’s topical debate show “Jeremy Vine,” one caller named Eugena bravely defended the runaway royals as she expressed her thoughts regarding the issue.
“I’m really sick of this. Yet again, I saw Harry and Meghan have been penalized for stating a fact. You said they made a pitch against Mr. Trump, but they didn’t mention him. They’re adults. They fled the country,” she mentioned.
The Sussexes’ supporter pointed out that the couple has paid their debts to the taxpayer, yet the public is still crucifying them by wanting to give up their title.
“They paid back the renovation, and now you want them to be stripped of their title; why?”
On the other hand, panelist Iain Dale mentioned his stance and stressed that one of the royal family protocols is to be politically neutral.
“We know that they’re not allowed to get involved in politics. We’re not naive; we know exactly what they meant by that comment.”
This came after the majority of the Brits voted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should lose their royal titles, as conducted by market research consultancy Savanta Comres, cited by Tatler magazine.
