Tale of the Nine-Tailed cast Lee Dong Wook, Jo Bo Ah, and Kim Bum participated in a press conference to celebrate its first airing after the most anticipated premiere of tvN.
In a press conference of Tale of the Nine-Tailed, Lee Dong Wook talked about his rare role as a male gumiho. He commented that it was a vital and unique role for him. When he got the casting offer, he was curious about which actress would play the gumiho, but the production revealed it is him.
Authentic role playing
Since then, Lee Dong Wook was drawn into the character. He enjoyed the drama, where he said hails various genres. The actor also shared that he did not study for his role, and his acting is raw. He backed his idea by revealing he doesn’t want to imitate similar fantasy characters.
His acting mindset is to have fun with the script but keeping it authentic at the same time.
Character differentiation
Jo Bo Ah shared her character Nam Ji Ah on the series is different from her personality. She added that she lost her parents when she was nine years old, making her spend two years thinking that they will come back someday.
The actions scenes in the drama are different from her performances she has done on previous roles. The teamwork between her co-stars is critical because they could get physically hurt.
Despite the action segments, Lee Dong Wook is considerate of Jo Bo Ah, making the scenes very comfortable for both stars.

The remarkable comeback on “Tale of the Nine-Tailed”
Kim Bum is making his return to the drama industry on the said series. He last appeared in the 2016 drama Mrs. Cop 2. He stated that he is pleased and nervous to be in front of his fans for the first time in a long time.
Yi Rang might look evil and sharp from a different perspective about his character, but he seems lonely. Kim Bum could hardly call Yi Ran as a villain. He describes him as someone who becomes focused on something when hooked into it.
One of the things that Yi Rang is obsessed with is his brother. He has been feeling different emotions and learned a lot while acting.
Kim Bum described that how he is trying to act is difficult because he is not fully human. He has to put animalistic movements in some action scenes.
