Taylor Swift might have sent Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner a baby present, as hinted on “Folklore.”
Almost a year after her seventh album, Lover, Taylor Swift surprised her fans with her eighth, Folklore. Amid the pandemic crisis, the artist revealed that she wrote and created the album in “isolation.”
The new album has a total of 16 tracks, with one bonus track. Unlike her previous albums, Swift did not share any “Easter eggs” before the release of the album. She did, however, include them on the lyrics of the songs, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Taylor Swift treats fans with Easter eggs on the lyrics
In her past albums, Taylor Swift always plays her little “game” with her fans, the Swifties. Reports have since called it her “Easter eggs” as she always incorporates clues and hints on each of her video, photo, and song.
For Folklore, however, it all came as a surprise when she directly announced on Instagram that she would release her eighth album on the same day. She explained after, though, that she still went on to include her famous “Easter eggs” on the lyrics of the tracks.
The “Cardigan” singer then said that she also “created character arcs.” There are also “recurring themes that map out who is singing about who,” she added.
Her Easter eggs on “Invisible String”
Upon sharing what she did with her latest album, Swifties immediately worked on these clues and hints, according to Marie Claire. Among all the tracks, “Invisible String” is the one particular song that has since caught the attention of the fans.
In the lyrics, Taylor Swift sings, “For the boys who broke my heart/Now I send their babies presents.” Her fans shortly speculated that she might be singing about Joe Jonas.
Aside from the fact that the singer is one of her ex-boyfriends, he is also expecting his first child with his wife, Sophie Turner. This is why many individuals have speculated that the songstress might have sent Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner “presents.”
Her relationship with Joe Jonas
Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas became a thing in the past. Reports said that more than a decade has passed since they dated. As it happened, the former couple reportedly dated for three months in 2008. However, they broke up after Jonas’ infamous “phone call.”
The Daily Mirror said that “Forever & Always,” “Better Than Revenge,” and “Last Kiss” are believed to be Taylor Swift’s songs about their break-up. Despite all the controversies that had followed them over the years, the pair have reportedly moved on.
