“Evermore” is a “sister record” to “Folklore,” according to Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift gave her fans another sweet treat ahead of the holiday season. She released her ninth studio album, Evermore, on Friday at midnight.
The album, which features 17 tracks, arrived only a few months after Swift dropped her eighth, Folklore. Amid the pandemic crisis, the “Lover” singer seemingly focused her time on creating music for her fans and supporters.
Following Evermore’s surprising premiere, the 30-year-old artist publicized the official lyric videos of each track. She also uploaded the official music video of the first track of the album titled “Willow,” according to The Independent.
Ever since I was 13, I’ve been excited about turning 31 because it’s my lucky number backwards, which is why I wanted to surprise you with this now. You’ve all been so caring, supportive and thoughtful on my birthdays and so this time I thought I would give you something! pic.twitter.com/wATiVSTpuV

“Willow” picks up where “Cardigan” left off
Taylor Swift did a similar stunt for Folklore earlier in July. She released one music video for the album’s first track, “Cardigan.”
Reports said that the music video for “Willow” mirrors the theme and aesthetics of “Cardigan.” When comparing the two, fans and followers noticed that the latest material picks up where Folklore’s first track last left off.
In the video, Swift climbs through her piano and emerges into a magical world. She, then, meets a man of her age and consequently partakes in a ritual.
She eventually reunites with the male character on the video at the end of the course. They, later on, walk toward the forest, a scene which mimics the same surrounding featured in “Cardigan.”
Taylor Swift hinting at a possible marriage?
People released a similar report, covering Taylor Swift’s latest work. As stated, the artist wrote the song alongside Aaron Dessner, who also worked with her on Folklore.
Based on the lyrics of “Willow,” reports believe that the “You Need To Calm Down” singer “sings of being deeply in love.” The publication, then, linked the matter to Joe Alwyn, whom Swift has been dating since 2016.

Apart from the lyrics, the whole video itself sparked a lot of talks about the couple’s relationship status. As it happened, fans and supporters seemingly believe that Swift is hinting at a possible engagement or wedding, according to Bustle.
Several Swifties took their thoughts to social media platforms and shared their insights on the music video. Based on the posts, netizens seemingly believe that the couple is either engaged or married already.
The publication noted, however, that Swift incorporates a lot of Easter eggs in her works. Moreover, no one can confirm whether Alwyn already asked for her hand in marriage.
In the end, though, reports emphasized that the relationship appears to be going well and “strong.” This became even more apparent when Taylor Swift revealed that Joe Alwyn is also William Bowery, who co-wrote some of the tracks in both Folklore and Evermore.
