Taylor Swift should run for president, according to her fans, after Kanye West announced that he is joining the presidential race.
Taylor Swift and Kanye West have been feuding in the past years. There was a time when things went well for the two, but it fell apart again. So, now that West is eyeing the higher office, Swift’s fans are urging her to compete and beat the rapper.
Taylor Swift for president
Taylor Swift made headlines after Kanye West announced that he would be running for president. Her fans and the Swifties around the world took to social media calling the pop star to join the presidential race, Billboard reported.
Swift’s fans were confident that he could beat West, so they begged the Love Story hitmaker to run against the Gold Digger rapper.
” I honestly can’t wait for Taylor Swift to come out and say, “Hey Kanye, Imma let you finish but…” and then BOOM announces that she’s gonna run for president,” @tswiftwurld added.
However, Billboard noted that the Reputation singer is not qualified because candidates must be at least 35 years old to run. Swift is only 30, while West is 43.

Why fans urged Swift to run against West
Taylor Swift and Kanye West had a long-running feud.
It started at the 2009 VMAs when Swift won the Best Video by a Female Artist. She was delivering her acceptance speech when West suddenly appeared on stage and interrupted her, Vox reported.
“I’ mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!” West said, telling Swift that Beyoncé had been robbed.
The cameras cut to Beyoncé, who was staring at the stage. She said, “Oh, Kanye” after watching the scene in horror.
When West handed back the microphone to Swift and walked offstage, she took it and remained speechless. She couldn’t utter any word.
West apologized to Swift, and for a couple of years, things went well for the two celebrities.

West started another fight against Swift
In 2016, Kanye West told Taylor Swift that he would mention her in his song Famous. In their conversation, West urged Swift to share the song on Twitter because she has a massive following.
Swift asked what the song was about and if it was mean. It took long for West to share the lyric of the song, and Swift approved of it. However, he changed it when he dropped the song and called Swift “b—h.”
Swift reacted and said she did not give her permission to West to call her that way. West insisted she knew about the song and shared a short video of his call with Swift informing her of his upcoming song.
Due to the incident, several called Swift a liar. However, earlier this year, a complete video of their conversation leaked on Twitter.
It turned out that although West called Swift, he did not tell her the actual lyric. He never mentioned “b—h” in their conversation. Swift did not lie.
“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account,” Taylor’s rep told the New York Times.
“She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message.” Not only that, the rep said, but “Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that [expletive] famous.'”
