'Teen Mom OG At Home: Cory & Taylor’s Baby Special' to air on MTV

Teen Mom OG star Cory Wharton just had a baby with girlfriend Taylor Selfridge in the time of coronavirus. And now they will share their journey through a special on MTV.

Taylor Selfridge and Cory Wharton welcomed their first baby girl ever on April 22. Born at 9:17 p.m. with a weight of 9 lbs., 5 oz., they named her Mila Mae Wharton.

But before her joyful arrival, Mila’s parents went through an emotional rollercoaster ride. The pandemic and the quarantine going on really challenged them to stay firm and strong in the midst of fear.

The couple documented their journey and now it’s going to be featured in a special titled Teen Mom OG At Home: Cory & Taylor’s Baby Special.

Mila Mae Wharton, Welcome to this crazy world baby girl. I can’t even put into words how much I love you. After 9 months of carrying her, 22 hours of labor, 45 minutes of pushing, hearing her cry for the first time and the doctors putting her in my arms was the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life. 9 pounds 5 ounces, mommy ate too many sweets with you ???????? Thank god for Cory because I didn’t think I was going to be able to do it the last few hours, I couldn’t have asked for a better support system. The last few days I’ve felt so full of love, she knows exactly who I am. I hope that every woman who wants children gets to experience this, I feel so connected and loved by her. Just like that I’ve turned into a mother and a protector which is why my comments will be off for this post. Mila, I love you with every inch of my body. I’m emotional writing this because you can’t put a feeling like this into words. My best friend forever ???????????? my little chunky butt ???????? I get to smother you with kisses for the rest of your life ????????

Sharing the journey

The upcoming special will show the final weeks of Selfridge’s pregnancy. It will feature some of the things that they did to prepare for their little girl’s arrival.

All of that while trying to navigate through the reality of a COVID-19 pandemic. The couple lives in California, which follows under a strict shelter-in-place order.

With such restrictions, the two needed to figure out how to quarantine together. They also had to carefully plan what to do when labor comes.

The most challenging of all is the possibility of not having anyone by Selfridge’s side when she gives birth. Hospitals have been mandating rules of not having a company during delivery to abide by safety precautions.

In the 20-second sneak peek, it shows Selfridge crying with anxiety as she imagines herself being all alone in the delivery room.

Wharton asks her what she’s scared about and she answers: “That they won’t let you come in.”

How will they go through the process? Followers will have to watch their self-recorded footage next month to see how things turned out for them.

Teen Mom OG At Home: Cory & Taylor’s Baby Special will premiere on June 9 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.

Safe delivery

At present, their baby Mila is all safe and sound. Wharton announced her arrival and updated everyone at the time that everyone is safe.

“Everybody is safe and everybody is healthy. Taylor is fine and the baby is gorgeous,” said the father of two.

Wharton, 29, already had a daughter with ex Cheyenne Floyd. They share three-year-old daughter Ryder. Their relationship was featured in the reality TV series.

But due to differences, their relationship didn’t last long and they eventually parted ways. The Teen Mom OG star and Wharton are civil though and Floyd calls their family “dysfunctional” blended family.
