Taylor Selfridge and Cory Wharton welcomed their first baby girl ever on April 22. Born at 9:17 p.m. with a weight of 9 lbs., 5 oz., they named her Mila Mae Wharton.
But before her joyful arrival, Mila’s parents went through an emotional rollercoaster ride. The pandemic and the quarantine going on really challenged them to stay firm and strong in the midst of fear.
The couple documented their journey and now it’s going to be featured in a special titled Teen Mom OG At Home: Cory & Taylor’s Baby Special.
The upcoming special will show the final weeks of Selfridge’s pregnancy. It will feature some of the things that they did to prepare for their little girl’s arrival.
All of that while trying to navigate through the reality of a COVID-19 pandemic. The couple lives in California, which follows under a strict shelter-in-place order.
With such restrictions, the two needed to figure out how to quarantine together. They also had to carefully plan what to do when labor comes.
The most challenging of all is the possibility of not having anyone by Selfridge’s side when she gives birth. Hospitals have been mandating rules of not having a company during delivery to abide by safety precautions.
In the 20-second sneak peek, it shows Selfridge crying with anxiety as she imagines herself being all alone in the delivery room.
Wharton asks her what she’s scared about and she answers: “That they won’t let you come in.”
How will they go through the process? Followers will have to watch their self-recorded footage next month to see how things turned out for them.
Teen Mom OG At Home: Cory & Taylor’s Baby Special will premiere on June 9 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
At present, their baby Mila is all safe and sound. Wharton announced her arrival and updated everyone at the time that everyone is safe.
“Everybody is safe and everybody is healthy. Taylor is fine and the baby is gorgeous,” said the father of two.
Wharton, 29, already had a daughter with ex Cheyenne Floyd. They share three-year-old daughter Ryder. Their relationship was featured in the reality TV series.
But due to differences, their relationship didn’t last long and they eventually parted ways. The Teen Mom OG star and Wharton are civil though and Floyd calls their family “dysfunctional” blended family.
