‘Teen Wolf’ legacy honored in ‘MTV Reunions,’ Tyler Posey and Dylan O’Brien are thrilled

On June 5, the Teen Wolf cast and the creator will once again unite in MTV Reunions special. The event will honor the show’s ninth anniversary.

Teen Wolf became one of the most well-known youth dramas since its release in 2011. In a span of almost seven years, the show has secured six seasons, each with acceptable ratings.

However, in 2017, the showrunner announced that the sixth installment of the series will be the last one. Since the premiere of the show’s finale, fans have never heard about the pack of Beacon Hills High School.

Surprisingly, after 3 long years of waiting, Teen Wolf devotees will once again witness their favorite cast.

MTV Reunions launches with Teen Wolf cast

MTV announced that its new digital format, MTV Reunions, will launch with the cast and creator of its iconic series Teen Wolf. The network’s special segment is designed to bring together cast members from television’s most memorable shows.

Consequently, 100% of the proceeds of the television special will aid frontline workers during the coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, Teen Wolf’s virtual get together will coincide with the hashtag “AloneTogether,” a global talent and social media-driven campaign.

This aims to educate young people on the importance of social distancing in order to flatten the curve of coronavirus.

Tyler Posey hinted the Teen Wolf reunion

Tyler Posey, who plays Scott McCall in the teen drama previously hinted at the reunion. On Twitter, he stated,

“Hey @MTV, it’s time to bring teen wolf back for new episodes. First, Jersey shore family vacation, now teen wolf high school reunion. I’m ready and 28, so it is an appropriate age.”

What to expect

The show’s reunion will mark the supernatural drama’s ninth anniversary. It will feature the series’ creator Jeff Davis along with fans’ favorites from Beacon Hills High School. This includes Orny Adams, Linden Ashby, Ian Bohen, Charlie Carver, Max Carver, Arden Cho, Cody Christian, Shelly Henning, Dylan O’Brien, Melissa Ponzio, Tyler Posey, Holland Roden and Dylan Sprayberry.

In the comfort of their respective home, the cast will reflect on the show’s memorable moments and filming experiences. Moreover, they will share how they are dealing with the unpredictability of living during the coronavirus pandemic.

More about the Teen Wolf series

Teen Wolf is loosely based on the 1985 film of the same name. It follows the story of social outcast Scott McCall, a high school student living in the town of Beacon Hills. His life drastically changed after he was bitten by a werewolf the night before sophomore year.

With this at hand, he strived to balance his problematic new identity with his day-to-day teenage life. On June 5, Teen Wolf’s special reunion will air on the MTV YouTube channel with amplification across MTV News, MTV brand, MTV Vault, and Teen Wolf social accounts.
