Tesla’s FSD or Full Self Driving beta button, along with the introduction of the safety rating system, was launched after numerous delays due to concerns from the National Transportation Safety Board.
Tesla’s FSD: With the arrival of new electric models in showrooms, the focus will be on consumers’ willingness to switch to electric cars at a time when Conventional gas stations remain familiar and ubiquitous.
On September 17, Tesla founder and CEO billionaire Elon Musk announced that the long-awaited FSD company beta button for EV company would finally be released on September 24. However, the Tesla executive noted that only well-behaved drivers would activate the button that activates the electric vehicle maker’s FSD or autopilot function.

And to keep Musk’s promise, the FSD button was released to his users on Friday night. Tesla FSD beta button launched. According to CNBC, the beta version of Tesla FSD is Musk’s electric vehicle company’s “premium driver assistance software.”
Rolling out Tesla’s FSD button
The recently released button allows vehicle owners to request access to the software. However, the FSD beta will only work for those who pass the new Safety Score beta. It aims to promote and encourage safe driving.
It should be noted that when Musk first brought up the idea of the Tesla Full Self-Driving package, it was due to be released in a “full function” state by the end of 2019. Initially, the FSD Beta button was called the full version of the software. However, after many delays, the EV company came up with a seemingly more catchy nickname.
Some Tesla customers already pre-ordered the autonomous driving package when it launched in 2019, which still cost $6,000 in August of the same year but is already inflated to a price of $10,000 today. That said, those early customers had to wait until September 2021 to at least request the FSD functionality in beta at the push of a button.
Multiple Delays Amid NTSB Criticism
According to Teslarati, in addition to the FSD button, which required Tesla’s controversial functionality, the electric vehicle giant unveiled the Safety Score (Beta) system, which seeks to record and assess the excellent behavior of drivers. The Titan EV’s new safety rating system promotes and encourages good conduct when driving amid safety issues. Tesla’s new safety score measures are divided into five under the name of “safety factors.”

To be precise, the measures are forced disengagement of the autopilot, aggressive turns, dangerous pursuit, braking. Tesla follows a formula for assigning safety scores ranging from 0 to 100. The EV Company endorses the predicted collision rate based on 6 million miles of fleet data and looks at the number of collisions that occur every 1 Million Miles.
Along with the FSD’s Beta Button Roller announcement on September 24, NTSB chief Jennifer Homendy reiterated her concerns about Tesla’s beta feature via the Wall Street Journal, noting that “the security of whether age must be taken into account.
