Outriders have been out only for a few days since its official release, but it seems like it’s already making a lot of buzzes each new day!
A line in the Outriders game made big rounds on the internet recently. As per the rumors, it was said to reference the US Capitol riots that took place earlier this year.
However, the makers of the video game have now clarified all the doubts.
That line in ‘Outriders’ isn’t related to US Capitol riots
After constant speculations and social media buzz about a possible reference to the US Capitol riots, the Outriders’ teams have clarified.
Firstly, let’s talk about that now-famous line.
It happens early in the game when one of the characters says about saving a different character “from that redneck mob storming DC.”
The moment players noticed this sequence, and they immediately came out with different reactions on social media.
And they had their reasons backed by logic as well.
Because the terms redneck, mob, and storming are all directly related to or used for referring to the unfortunate event of the US Capitol’s insurrection in January earlier this year.
Many news outlets have constantly used them in the past three months while talking about the forgettable incident.
So it was obvious to think of it when similar terms popped up in Outriders during the initial gameplay.
However, People Can Fly and Square Enix have confirmed (with Kotaku) that the line is not at all related to this year’s event in Washington, D.C.
“Any similarities to real-world events are purely coincidental,” told a representative.
Plus, has initially induced the line in the game two years ago. So there’s no point in its association with US Capitol riots.
It must have happened because Outriders released after the January six-event in February.
New games coming soon
This year, apart from witnessing weird reference theories, is also turning out huge for big games.
Coming months will reveal several major potential blockbusters like Resident Evil Village, Far Cry 6, and Halo Infinite.
God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Returnal, a new Call of Duty entry, and Back 4 Blood are also highly awaited.
But that’s not it!
The line-up extends further with the likes of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Balan Wonderworld, GhostWire: Tokyo, and STALKER 2. Stray, Deathloop, Dying Light 2, The Day Before, Etched Memories, and Glitchpunk are other vital launches.
Again, coming back to Outriders is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, XboxOne, and Xbox Series X|S.
