According to Globe, Chris Harrison thinks that he could be the next Tom Bergeron.
The latter was axed as the host of Dancing With the Stars this season, even though he’s been the resident host for the program for years.
Since The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have been on the air for years, Harrison is, allegedly, worried that the public is growing tired of him.
And since Bergeron was replaced by host Tyra Banks, who is a woman of color, Harrison fears that he will also be replaced by a female host.
“Both these shows have been on TV forever and the world has changed around them. To keep up with the Black Lives Matter and #MeToo movements, changes are being discussed. That’s left Chris feeling he’ll be the next Tom Bergeron and replaced by a woman of color,” the source said.
However, the tabloid also claimed that the network honchos are still discussing and evaluating the two reality TV shows to make sure that it remains popular.
As of late, ABC hasn’t made any announcement about Harrison being replaced as the host of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.
In fact, he will return to the new season of The Bachelor starting next month.
Last summer, Bergeron released a statement after it was announced that Banks would replace him as host of Dancing With the Stars.
On his Twitter account, Bergeron said that he’s grateful for all the years that he hosted the reality TV show.
Following the axing, Dancing With the Stars executive producer Andrew Llinares said that he thinks a new host is what the show needs.
“Any show like this that has been on for many, many seasons needs to continue to evolve. It was all about making the show feel fresh” and “new” and appeal to both old and new fans,” he said.
It is also important to note that Bergeron’s co-host, Erin Andrews, was also fired from Dancing With the Stars last season.
However, it is unclear if the same thing will happen to Chris Harrison following the upcoming season of The Bachelorette.
