The Coronavirus pandemic delays The Batman, The Matrix 4, Dune, and many other movies. These movies have new dates either in late 2021 or 2022.
The coronavirus pandemic is wreaking havoc across the Earth. This virus outbreak has affected almost all industries and costs more than one million human lives. Economic loss is immeasurable for all nations. Millions of people have lost their jobs, houses, education, and even food.
It has severely affected the entertainment industry. Due to theaters’ closure worldwide, producers have released movies either in OTT platforms or moved to the future. Warner Bros’ The Batman is the latest movie to join the list, and it has few others.
Batman and its friends
To say the least, The Batman has sparked massive hype among fans and critics with its trailer. The cast includes Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Paul Dano, and Colin Farrell. Matt Reeves, well known for the Planet of the Apes franchise, is the director with composer Michael Giacchino. Earlier, this movie had plans to release on October 1, 2021, but now moved to March 4, 2022.
When the shooting of The Batman started, news broke that Robert Pattinson got positive for Coronavirus infection. After treatment, he was cleared to go back to work in September.
The Matrix is a cult-classic science fiction directed by the Wachowskis in 1999. This movie had two successful sequels with a cast including Keanu Reeves, Carrie- Anne Moss, Lawrence Fishburne, and Hugo Weaving. The Matrix’s fourth part movie, The Matrix 4, got a release date of April 1, 2022. Surprisingly, this movie is preponed to December 22, 2021. This move is due to adjustment for fiscal calendars for Warner Bros.
Dune, the science-fiction movie from Dennis Villeneuve, has a stellar cast including Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Stellan Skarsgard, and Dave Bautista. This movie now hit the theatres by October 2021, from December 2020.

Producers are not releasing movies due to fear of loss, and movie theaters do not open due to government restrictions. But, deep under the shows, movie theaters are not opening due to a lack of new products for their customers, as people want to watch new movies. Though some movies like Tenet grossed in the box office, that is not the situation for all.
These movies can get an earlier release date, only if governments announce relaxations in restrictions on the entertainment industry.
