Fans of The Batman won’t feel happy upon knowing it, but it seems like the film’s production is once again facing some serious set tensions.
According to CBR, DC’s The Batman faces several issues between none other than lead actor Robert Pattinson and director Matt Reeves. However, it’s not yet officially confirmed from Warner Bros. heads themselves.
The Sun initially reported on it, citing several close sources associated with the movie. Since then, rumors of set troubles between the director and Pattinson are surfacing on social media.
‘The Batman’: Are the rumors of ‘set tensions’ actually true?
As per what The Sun covered, Robert Pattinson has become exhausted with the film’s shooting. And it’s because of the style of Matt Reeves’ direction. Not just that, but also that the lead actor is unable to shoot consistently in his uncomfortable and heavy Batman suit.
Speculations claimed that Pattinson is tired following some 50 plus takes of many scenes in the superhero outfit.
“Filming has been a grueling process, especially for Robert, as Matt is such a perfectionist,” told a source.
Adding further, about director Reeves, the source said:
“He’ll insist on doing scenes over and over again and get bogged down in the tiny detail. Sometimes it’s like he doesn’t know when to stop.”
These rumors and reports may or may not be true since another thing that needs to be noticed is the situation of COVID-19. Due to the pandemic, it might be the case that Reeves is making sure the film gets completed sooner. The virus cases are surging every day, and being out for a longer period of time won’t be good for anyone. Thus, it can also be another reason for such serious rumors. But nothing is obvious as of now.
Some of the sources even claimed that previously when The Batman saw a halt, it wasn’t due to Pattinson getting positive for Coronavirus. The actual reason was the tension between him and the filmmaker, which resulted in stopping the production.
These are all just speculations and reports floating around right now. Until and unless Warner Bros. reveals anything, nothing can’t be considered truthful.
On the other hand, die-hard moviegoers and fans of the upcoming DC flick hope that all such rumors turn out false. Because after the teaser trailer’s release during the Fandom online event, they are hyped up completely.
Future films coming under the DC universe
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. is currently busy with their planning of the movies arriving in the coming years. Speaking of the DC universe, it was recently revealed that Wonder Woman 3 is already in the studio’s works.
Then there’s the highly-awaited Snyder Cut of Justice League, about to arrive early this year. Other future projects include Shazam 2, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, The Flash, and Aquaman 2. The latter’s details are yet to be announced officially.
Coming back to The Batman, it’s currently scheduled for a release in the summer of 2022.
