Share

The Blacklist season 7 dropped on Netflix unannounced on Sept. 19, 2020.  Furthermore, the seventh installment features 19 episodes.

The Blacklist was first released on Netflix in 2014 after its successful run with NBC in 2013.  Now on its 7th installment, blacklist garnered millions of viewers globally. The series has an approval rating of 100% based on 5-star reviews for its 5th run.  Hollywood Reporter has it that The Blacklist season 7 has an average of 6.88 million viewers globally.

What is the series all about

The Blacklist is a compelling story over Raymond “Red” Reddington’s obsession to work with Elizabeth Keen.  Keen is a newbie profiler at the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) of the USA.  Reddington, on the other hand, is an ex-Naval Intelligence Officer turned FBI’s most wanted fugitive. Reddington and Keen form an unholy alliance in tracking and capturing the world’s most wanted criminals.

As they capture criminals, Reddington’s interest in Keen is slowly being unraveled.  Needless to say, Reddington’s brushings with known criminals in his 20-year absence prove to be very useful in the FBI’s investigative work.

“The Blacklist” season 7 plot

The long lost mother of Keen, Katarina Rostova, kidnaps Reddington. Keen and her team investigates all clues in the hope that they would find him just in time. But Reddington escapes protecting Keen from the dangers that Katarina is plotting. Thus, season 7 will push Keen to come face to face with her mother.

As the story progresses, season 7 will reveal Keen siding and teaming up with her mother, Katarina, against Reddington. This will be one of the biggest decisions that Keen will have to pursue.

“The Blacklist” season 7 cast and their roles

The original cast will reprise their roles in season 7. James Spader (Raymond “Red” Reddington) co-stars with Megan Boone (Elizabeth Keen) and Diego Klattenhoff (Donald Ressler).

Donald Ressler is a special agent with the FBI who later rose from the ranks to become FBI’s Acting Assistant Director for the Counterterrorism Division.

Other characters include:

  • Ryan Eggold as Tom Keen who works at the FBI as a covert operative and is Elizabeth Keen’s husband
  • Parminder Nagra as Meera Malik, a field agent with the CIA
  • Harry Lennix as Harold Cooper, the Assistant Director of the FBI Counterterrorism Division
  • Amir Arison as Aram Mojtabai, a cyber expert with the FBI
