NBC already announced its TV shows fall schedule, surprisingly including The Blacklist Season 8. As the show is mainly filmed in New York City, it is a surprise that it will be completed by fall, knowing the state of the city today.
According to Cartermatt, NBC seems to be showing a “return-to normal philosophy,” following its usual TV schedule amid the COVID-19 pandemic and protests. Aside from The Blacklist Season 8, Law & Order: SVU and Manifest are also part of the fall TV schedule.
The problem with the fall TV schedule
Cartermatt reported the fall premiere dates “are non-binding,” meaning it won’t be a big problem if the network drops the shows late. It may have only shown optimism that this much-loved series will be out on time, but they may still have serious discussions with the health officials about the production.
However, it also doesn’t mean that by announcing a fall schedule, they will drop the shows in September. It can go from mid- to late-October to early November so that they will have an ample amount of time to do bigger and plenty of episodes.
It may take time before NBC manages to bring the cast and crew back to work to do The Blacklist Season 8 production. Surely, it knows that it will take its toll on them if they get it wrong.

The revelations about Red’s true identity
The Blacklist Season 7 has yet to come to an end. It is still on a three-month hiatus, so it may take a little while before the new season commence.
It is quite hard to predict what will happen to the show, as it is always full of unexpected plot twists. However, Digital Spy noted that its inner logic would “remain consistent” in Blacklist Season 8.
“The show has a good history – if you look back – of playing fair with the audience,” the show creator Jon Bokenkamp told Parade. “Reddington may tell a truth, it might not be the entire truth, but ultimately, it is the truth.”
Fans may also see more information about Red’s (James Spader) true identity in The Blacklist Season 8—unless Season 7 will reveal it. The show’s sixth season teased to reveal the secret behind Red’s personality, but it still featured a lot of mysteries and several unanswered questions.
“Continuing to push deeper into the mythology in a way that will bring audiences deeper into the heart of Reddington is and why he came into Liz’s life,” Bokenkamp explained. “The sort of triangle of Katarina, Liz and Red will shine new light on the mythology of the show.”
Hence, fans can expect these things to have a significant impact on The Blacklist Season 8.
