Taylor Swift shared a cover of her hit song “Look What You Made Me Do” from the TV series Killing Eve. Although this looked meaningless, fans believed there was a conspiracy behind it.
In a tweet, the 30-year-old singer shared a short clip of the song used in the TV series. This version of the melody was a far cry from what she did. It was dark and haunting that perfectly played out for the show’s theme.
“VERY STOKED about this cover of lwymmd on @KillingEve by Jack leopards & the dolphin club!!” she captioned the video.
Although her post seemed to be no biggie, fans believed there was something more to it. According to Hollywood Life, the name of the band Jack Leopards & the Dolphin Club had never been heard before.
Their rendition of “Look What You Made Me Do” is also the only song credited to them. To add fuel to the fire, the track’s producer credits listed the name of Nils Sjoberg. This is the pseudonym Taylor Swift used when she co-wrote Rihanna’s song “This Is What You Came For” with ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris.
The Independent added that Taylor Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, also used the name The Dolphin Club as his Twitter moniker. He was even seen at a studio with his sister and Jack Antonoff. This gave birth to another theory that it was when they recorded the song cover.
However, the most popular theory of them all is that she had her voice altered to sound like a man to do the song.
The feud between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun began when the 38-year-old media proprietor acquired Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Records. This move enabled him to get a hold of the hitmaker’s six-album catalog.
So, from her 2006 self-titled album to the 2017 Reputation, Scooter Braun owned everything. In fact, when she tried to perform one of her greatest hits at the AMAs, Scooter and his team did not let her do so. Although he denied the claim, she showed proof to prove it.
So, fans are pretty convinced that the song cover is Taylor Swift’s attempt to keep Scooter Braun away from her music.
