Fans will once again see Sadao Maou on the small screen after eight years with the confirmed release of The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2.
Kadokawa Corporation’s Light Novel Expo officially announced the coming of The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2. The event also dropped the first trailer and new key art for the series.
Second season’s possible plotline
Of course, fans are now waiting on what will be the second season’s plotline. Although the studio behind the series has yet to officially announce the storyline, some base it on how the first season ended.
According to The Cinemaholic, the Season 1 finale showed how Sadao spent all his magical abilities to put Tokyo back together after his heated battle against Sariel.
Lucifer became a scam victim, so Emi tagged Sadao with her to ask for a refund. They found out Alciel was already an employee at the shop, The Cinemaholic noted.
Emi tried to solve the issue by offering a solution through the cooling-off period. The season finale ended with a celebratory meal of Sadao and Shirou.
In the epilogue, Emi arrived and gave Sadao an umbrella after getting soaking wet under the rain. Their relationship had evidently changed since the anime began.
So, would a romance started to brew between the two in The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2?
They might have yet to take their relationship to another level, but it was entirely too obvious that they deeply cared for each other.

The franchise’s storyline
The Devil is a Part-Timer follows the Demon Lord Satan’s story, who wants to conquer Ente Isla’s world, starting with its four continents.
However, the hero Emilia comes in his way and kills two of his demon generals. This forces him and his remaining general, Alciel, to leave Ente Isla, per CBR.
Later, they have found themselves in modern-day Tokyo with no power, cash, or anything. So to survive, they have to work at a fast-food restaurant called MgRonald’s.
A de-powered Satan, who goes with the name Sadao, even becomes a model employee.
The Devil is a Part-Timer started as a Japanese light novel series, written by Satoshi Wagahara and illustrated by 029. It began serializing in February 2011 and ended in August 2020.
Wagahara then adapted its story into a manga series, illustrated by Akio Hiiragi, starting in 2012. Its story is still ongoing until today.
Although the light novel series has already ended, the producers have enough source material for continuing The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2.
The first season only adapted the first two volumes, so the second season may animate Volume 3 onward.
There are no words yet when The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2 may be out, but it’s expected to hit the small screens in 2022.
