‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ won’t have a long duration

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier won’t be a very long series in total running hours; Kevin Feige just clarified it himself.

It’s going to be bad news for those fans hoping for lengthy The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episodes. Previous speculations suggested a total eight-hour duration for the show. However, Kevin Feige just revealed that it wouldn’t be that long.

The Disney+ title will feature Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to have a shorter duration?

Kevin Feige recently had an interaction with SciFiNow+. And he mentioned that the upcoming Marvel entry wouldn’t have an eight-hour duration.

And that’s even though The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will only have six episodes. Fans were thinking that due to less quantity, the per-hour length of each episode might increase.

They figured out an overall figure of roughly eight hours for all the chapters combined.

But now, it won’t be happening either, as per Mr. Feige.

“Not quite eight hours, but yes. It all comes down to the storytelling. I guess the short answer is we don’t distinguish it too much,” he said.

Furthermore, he also talked about going deeper into the character arcs of many MCU names. The actors of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier haven’t had much spotlight on themselves so far.

He said that Marvel would like to explore them more in the superhero franchise.

“Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are spectacular actors that we felt like we hadn’t explored their stories or their backstories or their personal stories enough as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes,” he said.

Apart from Anthony and Sebastian, the show also stars Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, and Daniel Bruh.

More MCU titles coming soon

Meanwhile, the superhero cinematic universe is right now working on its next slate of big projects.

Speaking of what’s coming next, phase four will give out installments like Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals. These movies, however, might witness a situation of delay as well.

Due to growing COVID-19 cases, most of the theaters are still closed. And even despite the arrival of vaccines, circumstances are still not precise. If they remain unchanged, then there won’t be a possibility of a theatrical release.

There will be other multiple MCU titles as well to come out later this year and beyond. Some of them to watch out for are Loki, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, What If…?, and Ironheart.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier TV series will make its premiere on Disney+ service on March 19th.
