The lawsuit against CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077 has now received a filing date. A board member from the developer revealed the news.
Upon its highly anticipated launch last December, Cyberpunk 2077 faced massive controversy due to faulty gameplay. As a result of that, a class-action lawsuit was filed against developer CD Projekt RED.
‘Cyberpunk 2077’ lawsuit details
After a constant buzz on social media and an outcry of fans over the ‘crunch‘ situation, CDPR finally decided to release the game last year. However, it wasn’t the release developers were hoping for.
The open-world, the role-playing game, faced massive wrath of players and critics when it eventually landed in stores.
There were multiple issues regarding gameplay smoothness, unexpected bugs, and glitches, among other problems.
Furthermore, angry fans even demanded refunds for their purchases. Because they could not run Cyberpunk 2077 properly at all, it cost the Polish developer a massive loss of $51.2 million in revenue.
Within just ten days of its exciting release, Sony then decided to remove it from its PS Store, following adverse reactions.
And if that wasn’t enough, this filed a class-action lawsuit against developer CD Projekt RED due to the bad performance of the game.
Last week, the already filed four lawsuits were combined into one major case.
As per the recent information, this will file a prominent lawsuit later in June. There’s also a lead plaintiff appointed to represent the claimants.
“As of today, we are not aware of the value of a potential claim,” said CDPR’s board member Nielubowicz through a translator.

What’s next for the CD Projekt RED title?
Following a continuous cycle of unexpected problems, the developer is now trying to rectify all the wrongs gradually.
At the beginning of this year, CDPR announced that it would come up with constant new updates for Cyberpunk 2077. And it did that as well.
However, there’s been no additional patch released since the last month (or more than that).
When it comes to improvements, then there’s a long way to go for the game to achieve a status of greatness.
The performance on PS4 and PC is way better now, compared to how it was initially.
There are also reports regarding some upcoming DLCs based on various quests and characters. A Panam-based downloadable content is announced already.
Fans of the title, who love it, are hoping for dedicated DLCs for Judy Alvarez and Jackie Welles.
